These school holidays are looking a little different than usual and it’s important that both students and their parents have access to resources to support their wellbeing.

The NSW Government has created free resource sheets for parents and children to help support their mental wellbeing at this time and make sure they have quick and easy access to information to look after their overall health.

Nationals Member of the Legislative Council Ben Franklin said now more than ever it is so important people can access supportive resources.

“For most of, this is the first time in our lives we have experienced such a dramatic change to the way we live,” Mr Franklin said.

“There are many children who may be finding this time difficult and confusing and many parents and carers looking for the best ways to support and reassure their families and support their own wellbeing.

“The NSW Government has created these resources to offer that support to both children and their parents and carers and I would encourage anyone looking for some guidance during this time to follow the links.”

Parents and carers can use these resources to help them communicate with their children about COVID-19, how they may be feeling and how to help them through this challenging time.

Beyond Blue has also created a Coronavirus Mental Wellbeing support website which is regularly updated with advice and strategies to help people manage their mental health through these times and anyone who feels they may need help to support their wellbeing is encouraged to visit the website at coronavirus.beyondblue.org.au
