Work is under way to build a median crossover on the Pacific Highway at Emigrant Creek as part of the NSW Government’s economic stimulus package.

Member of the Legislative Council Ben Franklin said stimulus funding from the $2.3 billion COVID-19 package announced in March has allowed Transport for NSW to bring forward and deliver projects in addition to its planned program of work.

“As a result of this package, $400,000 has been allocated to build a crossover on the centre median of the Pacific Highway at Emigrant Creek,” Mr Franklin said.

“This will be used to divert traffic when maintenance works start later this year on Emigrant Creek Bridge, to assist in maintaining two-way traffic.

“Thousands of motorists use the Pacific Highway every day at this location and helping ensure a smooth flow of traffic during essential maintenance work is vital for all road users.”

Mr Franklin said the additional funding has meant work to build the median crossover can start ahead of schedule which will also help to support jobs and local businesses.”

To allow for work to take place on the median, fast lane closures will be in place 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
